Dr. John M. Hillyard
Board Certified in Orthopaedics
Fellowship in Reconstructive Orthopaedic Surgery, UT Southwestern Medical School, Dallas
Dr. John M. Hillyard has been part of Texas Center for Joint Replacement since 1994. "When the chance to join Texas Center for Joint Replacement was presented to me, I jumped at the opportunity," he says. "I'm working with an excellent staff and the best orthopaedic surgeons in the Southwest."
Dr. Hillyard did his fellowship in adult reconstructive surgery under Drs. Head and Emerson at Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital Dallas, which is associated with the University of Texas Southwestern Medical School. He then spent several years in Phoenix at the Arizona Center for Joint Replacement, but soon was persuaded to return to Texas.
He graduated with honors from the University of Utah and then went on to distinguish himself at the St. Louis University School of Medicine. He completed his orthopaedic training in San Francisco. He is certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery. He is married and has two children, who are the center of his universe.
Dr. Hillyard specialized in joint surgery because he enjoys the older people who can benefit from this procedure. "I enjoy helping patients return to a more active lifestyle with less pain, so they may enjoy their 'golden' years." He is known for the extra time he gives to his patients to help them understand the complicated procedures they are considering. His quiet demeanor is reassuring to our patients and their families.
